~ Support Your Parks Weekend
April 19th, 2025
March 31, 2025-
Our next POTA event will be held at -
Colonel Allensworth State Historical Park- POTA park US-3421
4011 Grant Dr. Earlimart CA 93219
From Bakersfield: Take Highway 99 north for 30-miles, exit at Pond Road and keep going west approximately 7 miles to State Highway 43. From there, go right on Highway 43 for about 11 miles to Palmer Avenue. Make a left turn and go over the railroad tracks then turn right to enter the park. Currently there is no admission fee .
Start time will be 9am and run until 2pm or when everyone decides to leave. Lunch will be served about noon and will be a simple hotdog lunch with potato salad and cookies. We ask that everyone simply make a donation that day towards the cost of food. Our goal is to make the POTA events support themselves. Any extra funds will be saved for the next event. If you want to bring a favorite homemade cookie or side dish we will NOT turn you away however we always have too much food when everyone brings something.
If you are new to amateur radio, to POTA, or to the KCCVARC that’s ok. We want you to come join us! This is a very relaxed atmosphere and genuinely lots of fun and great fellowship! There will be plenty of stations available for you to use to get your activation. HOWEVER… if you want to bring your equipment and test it out then ABSOLUTELY bring it out. There are plenty of guys
and gals that would be willing to help you get your station set up and running properly. Remember Field Day is in June and this event is a great testing day for you to find out what you’re missing or if all is well.
If you plan to attend please email your RSVP to, POTA@w6lie.org.
-thank you
